When Robben plays Bayern always wins.
Robben scored more goals than all the other players in the opposite team together.
And Pep is the most successful trainer ever in Bundesliga.

That and some more facts here: (in German, sorry, but the stats and stuff are still interesting)

Four days after announcing the names of the candidates for the FIFA Women’s World Player of the Year and the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Women’s Football for 2014 awards, FIFA and France Football have today revealed the names for the men’s awards.

The candidates for the FIFA Ballon d’Or and for the FIFA World Coach of the Year for Men’s Football awards have been unveiled (see below). The final decisions will be made by the captains and head coaches of the men’s national teams as well as by international media representatives selected by France Football.

The winners of all of the awards will be revealed at the FIFA Ballon d’Or as part of a televised show at the Zurich Kongresshaus on 12 January 2015, during which the FIFA FIFPro World XI, the FIFA Puskás Award – for the most beautiful goal of the year – the FIFA Presidential Award and the FIFA Fair Play Award will also be presented.

The list of 23 male candidates has been drawn up by football experts from the FIFA Football Committee and by a group of experts from France Football. The list of ten coaches has been drawn up by the Committee for Women’s Football and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ and by the FIFA Football Committee, as well as by a group of experts from France Football.

On 1 December, FIFA and France Football will announce in a live show the names of the three women and three men, as well as the three coaches for women’s football and three coaches for men’s football, who have received the most votes (without unveiling the winners). The three nominees for the FIFA Puskás Award and the FIFA FIFPro World XI shortlist for the best forwards (15), midfielders (15), defenders (20) and goalkeepers (5) will be unveiled in the end of November and the beginning of December.

Arjen Robben and Lionel Messi have undoubtedly been two of the stars of the 2014 World Cup. But which of them is more important to their side’s hopes of competing for the trophy in the Maracana come June 13?

Both players strike similar fear into opposition defenses and have both found themselves double or triple marked at times during the competition. In terms of ultimate output, the pair are very similar. Per 90 minutes on the field, Robben has produced 0.56 goals and 0.19 assists for a total goal contribution of 0.75; Messi’s figures are slightly better at 0.79 goals and 0.20 assists for a total goal contribution of 0.99. Include the match-winning penalty Robben won against Mexico in the round of 16 as an assist and his overall goal contribution jumps to 0.94 per 90 minutes—pretty much on par with Messi. (I've included a chart because this isn't Statistics class)

When you look at Argentina and Messi, the team is well aware of his place on the team. We know he is our main player, our captain, the best player in the world,” Mascherano said recently, as reported by Fox Sports. “Every time we recover the ball we try to pass to him as he is the best player we have in the team and he will score goals.” Indeed, Argentina coach Sabella has looked painfully short on alternative plans throughout the tournament.

In short, Messi is Argentina’s creative hub, whereas Robben is simply Netherlands’ most potent attacking threat.

Jose Mourinho lent his opinion that if water is wet and grass is green, Robben is going to try and get free-kicks and penalties. Mourinho stated, "My opinion on Robben? He was my player and I know better than many what a fantastic player he is, I also know that sometimes he tries to get an advantage and he tries to get a free kick or he tries to get a penalty.” Speaking after Robben won a controversial 93rd-minute penalty to send Mexico out of the World Cup at the last-16 stage, Mourinho said referees should have the help of video technology.

“So I think the referee should also be happy to have the chance in case of doubt, the chance to clear every doubt and the chance to make the right decision because when one country feels that one bad decision influences its future in the competition I think it’s hard and I think it’s important for coaches, for players but also referees.

“I think it’s important for the players to help the referees and to help the referees is to be honest on the pitch and to help the referee is to be pure and try to win the right way. I think technology is something the referees would welcome.” Mourinho also praised Algeria for their performance in their 2-1 defeat to Germany on Monday night.

He also gave Robben praise on his speed and stuff.

this is actually the most ridiculous thing I've ever made, but in my defense, I'm still intoxicated and euphoric about the triple

disclaimer: all drawn in good fun, I bear Bayern's opponents no particular ill will, etc. etc.

Rich Bavarian tradition was part and parcel of the annual team visit to the famous Oktoberfest on Sunday lunchtime. And the foaming festival ale will hardly ever have tasted better than now, as FCB comfortably lead the Bundesliga with a new record streak from the start of the season of 21 points from seven matches, with 21 goals scored and only two conceded. The players, coaches, support staff and officials, all smartly kitted out in rustic lederhosen, visibly enjoyed their time in Käfer's marquee, “and they can all have as much as they want," declared Jupp Heynckes, “I'm looking forward to a few very jolly hours." At the end of Spain-Czech Republic yesterday, I was going into squee overdrive because Torres and Cech were chummying up to each other and it was SO. ADORABLE: -
Photobucket

XD

Which got me thinking, that kind of thing, club teammates helping each other up, going to chat to each other at the end of an international match regardless of result, is one of the most adorable things in football, the total antithesis to the Ronaldo-Rooney situation of the 2006 World Cup, if you will. So, if you fancy it, share some pics of your club's players being all cutesy with each other on international duty!! (oh, I think I meant to imply that they should be in opposing teams, otherwise this would have been a big Frank-JT-fest. ;) )

Sepp Blatter will make way for a successor as FIFA president in four years' time if he is re-elected in June, he has announced.

Blatter is seeking a fourth term as FIFA president and is being challenged by Asian confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam.

The 75-year-old told UEFA's Congress in Paris on Tuesday that if he wins he will definitely stand down in 2015, saying: "You know very well that I am a candidate for the next four years as FIFA president but these will be the last four years for which I stand as a candidate."
He added: "Together we have the task of bringing together the adventure we have started.
"We want to ensure a better future for our youth."

The new president will be elected at a Fifa Congress which starts on 31 May.

With Bin Hammam vowing to increase Fifa's decision-making power and spread its considerable wealth, Blatter is facing his first challenge since Issa Hayatou took him on - and lost - in 2002.

Bin Hammam is also currently attending the Congress for European football's governing body, Uefa, as they lobby federation presidents for their vote on 1 June in Zurich.
Uefa members make up more than one quarter of the maximum 208 Fifa voters that Blatter and Bin Hammam will attempt to woo.
The winner needs a two-thirds majority of valid votes cast in the first ballot, or a majority in the second.

Fifa has set an 1 April deadline for other candidates to be nominated by a single member federation.
"We are in extra time," said Blatter, referring to the time left before the election. "Let's wait and see what the outcome will be."
