Exclusive interview for The Telegraph: The Chelsea manager talks religion, 'fearing nothing' and Machiavelli. Plus, he finally reveals the one thing he and title rival Arsene Wenger actually agree on.

"I think,” the Chelsea manager José Mourinho says, “I have a problem, which is I’m getting better at everything related to my job since I started. There has been evolution in many different areas – the way I read the game; the way I prepare the game; the way I train; the methodology … I feel better and better. But there is one point where I cannot change: when I face the media, I am never a hypocrite.”

Statistically speaking, Mourinho is the most successful club manager in world football. He has won the league titles in each of the four countries where he has managed – his native Portugal, Italy, Spain and England. He has won the Champions League twice. But that, of course, is only the half of it. Mourinho is – arguably – also the most divisive manager in football. There is no manager more likely to ignite the ire of rival fans. The jousting with referees and the FA, the press-conference wind-ups, the touchline sulks – never mind the football, watching Mourinho is almost a spectator sport in itself.

long but very interesting interview/article )

I go back and forth with Mou (especially this season when he's whining so much), but this interview is one of those that make me love him. :)

What a great game vs Everton for our wonderful Arsenal Ladies who have given the club their latest FA Cup double!!

For the men - it was the 11th FA Cup in Arsenal's history - that is a record. And it was the fifth of our beloved coach's career - who now holds the record for a modern coach.

I have some pictures of both wins - more for the men, because the women are still celebrating on the pitch and I need to make some gifs. But I'll update the post in a few hours :)

The women's final will go first!

Very early in Napoli's match against Lazio at the San Paolo, Miroslav Klose scored off a corner kick to put Lazio up 1-0. While the Lazio players began to celebrate, Napoli protested the goal, saying that Klose scored with his hand, which he did. Klose then admitted his offense to the referee, who disallowed the goal, and the Napoli players showed their appreciation for Klose honesty by patting him on the back.

Napoli went on the beat Lazio 3-0, but it was the 34-year-old German legend who earned the lion's share of respect on the day. And making the incident even more enjoyable is the fact that he admitted his handball goal in the stadium that used to be the home of Maradona, the unrepentant perpetrator of the Hand of God goal.

The former Portuguese international joins the Ewood Park club on a free transfer following his release from Braga at the end of last season, signing a two-year-deal.

So very happy that Nuno gets to continue playing. I have loved him forever. My favorite currently playing footballer and only 2nd to Eusebio for favorite of all time.

If you want to know more about him, check my blog post out I wrote last year when he was released from Benfica.

He's so well spoken!

I will forever until my dying day stan this man. I'm also 99% sure almost 50% of my kit collection feature his name and number. Woops.

Unless you have been living under a rock or don't give a shit about La Liga, you probably heard all about the wankfest of the Supercopa, fight, tackles, racist crowds blah blah blah, etc.

But perhaps you did not hear about the absolute best part of Supercopa. One of the defining pictures of the night.

So...Mourinho wrote the fans a letter addressing rumors that he's quitting and his behavior at a recent match:

Only those who don’t know me can dream, make up or believe I may leave Real Madrid at this stage…

I believe many people were surprised by the quality football showcased by Real Madrid during the preseason and it would be surprising news to them if I left the club now. Impossible!

I have a fantastic President who is very intelligent and with whom I have a great friendship. I also have a Director General who works for the club 24 hours a day, so my motivation is enormous and my Madridismo is even greater than that of some pseudo-Madridistas…

There is no way I’m leaving. No way!

I also wish to apologise to Madridistas, and only to them, for my attitude in our last game. Some people are better adapted to the hypocrisy in football than I am, and they hide their faces and speak in whispers deep inside tunnels.

I’m not learning to be a hypocrite, and I don’t want to.

Best wishes to all. We’ll see each other tomorrow at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.

José Mourinho

Eric F'ing Cantona: "When I was in Manchester, I loved the city and had a great time."

Eric Cantona has told City’s moaning stars to stop complaining about Manchester and concentrate on winning trophies.

But he has also warned Roberto Mancini’s title hopefuls that United will continue to dominate – even without the retired Paul Scholes.

The French legend has returned to his spiritual home to help celebrate Scholes’ testimonial against New York Cosmos tomorrow night, where the director will manage a dream Cosmos team including Fabio Cannavaro, Gary Neville, and Patrick Vieira.

He enjoyed five years of incredible success at Old Trafford, winning four Premier League titles and two FA Cups from 1992-97.

And after hearing that Mario Balotelli this week joined Carlos Tevez in insisting he has struggled to settle in Manchester, Cantona says success on the pitch is what’s important.

“They don’t like the place?” he asked. “It depends where you come from. If they come from Milan, maybe."

I don’t want to name other cities, but if their city is better, then why did they come?"

The King has no time for your whingeing. )

Paul Scholes's testimonial will be broadcast on FSC tomorrow at 11:30AM PST/2:30PM EST, as well as MUTV at 19:30 BST.

New York Cosmos (managed by Cantona): Fabio Cannavaro(!), Brad Friedel, Gary Neville, Wayne Bridge, Patrick Vieira, Sol Campbell, Robert Pires, Nicky Butt, Dwight Yorke, Robbie Keane, Michel Salgado, Brian McBride, and eight Under-23 Cosmos players.

Manchester United: De Gea, Kuszczak, Lindegaard, Amos; Evra, Jones, Ferdinand, Smalling, Vidic, Fabio, Rafael, Evans; Anderson, Giggs, Park, Carrick, Nani, Scholes, Young, Fletcher, Valencia, Obertan, Gibson, Cleverley, Pogba, Norwood, Morrison; Owen, Berbatov, Rooney, Welbeck, Macheda, Diouf.

Villas Boas appointed as Chelsea manager

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce that Andre Villas-Boas will be the club's new manager.

He has signed a three-year contract and will start work immediately.

Andre was the outstanding candidate for the job. He is one of the most talented young managers in football today and has already achieved much in a relatively short space of time. His ambition, drive and determination matches that of Chelsea and we are confident Andre's leadership of the team will result in greater successes in major domestic and European competitions.

Andre will bring his coaching experience back to a club he is already very familiar with, having previously worked here for three years. He has always been highly regarded at Chelsea and everyone here looks forward to welcoming him back and working with him.
