Sepp Blatter will make way for a successor as FIFA president in four years' time if he is re-elected in June, he has announced.

Blatter is seeking a fourth term as FIFA president and is being challenged by Asian confederation chief Mohamed Bin Hammam.

The 75-year-old told UEFA's Congress in Paris on Tuesday that if he wins he will definitely stand down in 2015, saying: "You know very well that I am a candidate for the next four years as FIFA president but these will be the last four years for which I stand as a candidate."
He added: "Together we have the task of bringing together the adventure we have started.
"We want to ensure a better future for our youth."

The new president will be elected at a Fifa Congress which starts on 31 May.

With Bin Hammam vowing to increase Fifa's decision-making power and spread its considerable wealth, Blatter is facing his first challenge since Issa Hayatou took him on - and lost - in 2002.

Bin Hammam is also currently attending the Congress for European football's governing body, Uefa, as they lobby federation presidents for their vote on 1 June in Zurich.
Uefa members make up more than one quarter of the maximum 208 Fifa voters that Blatter and Bin Hammam will attempt to woo.
The winner needs a two-thirds majority of valid votes cast in the first ballot, or a majority in the second.

Fifa has set an 1 April deadline for other candidates to be nominated by a single member federation.
"We are in extra time," said Blatter, referring to the time left before the election. "Let's wait and see what the outcome will be."

Reds in talks over Riera sale.

Liverpool are in talks with Olympiacos over the sale of winger Albert Riera.

The Spaniard played no part in Wednesday night's friendly draw with Grasshoppers as discussions over his future continue with the Greek outfit.

Roy Hodgson told Liverpoolfc.tv: "Albert Riera did not play as a precaution because negotiations are ongoing with Olympiacos."

Riera signed from Espanyol in August 2008 and has scored five goals in 56 appearances.

Albert Riera has killed his World Cup dream by pricing himself out of a move to Spartak Moscow, it has been revealed by the Russian club's manager.

The Spain international, 27, has become an outcast at Liverpool after launching a broadside in a radio interview, describing the club as a 'sinking ship' and castigating manager Rafael Benitez for what he believes is poor man management by his compatriot.

After publicly accusing Benitez of destroying his hopes of representing his country in South Africa, it appears that the former Espanyol winger has done exactly the same thing by demanding a lucrative salary which was double his current earnings at Anfield.

Moyes avoids action over Eastlands touchline bust-up

Roberto Mancini has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his clash with David Moyes.

The Manchester City boss was involved in an unseemly spat with his Everton counterpart during the closing stages of the Toffees' 2-0 victory at Eastlands on Wednesday night.

Mancini attempted to wrestle the ball from Moyes' grasp on the touchline in a bid to allow his players to take a quick throw-in as they battled, in vain, to get back on terms.

Fourth official Howard Webb had to step in to separate the duo, before referee Peter Walton came over to the sidelines and sent both men to the stands.

The FA have elected to charge Mancini for his actions having studied match official Walton's report into the incident.

Moyes has not been charged, however the FA have written to the Goodison Park boss to remind him of his responsibilities.

Mancini has until 6th April to respond to the charge and a regulatory commission will hear the case by 19th April.

"It was nothing really, and I've no problem with Roberto," Moyes said on Friday.

"He was fine immediately afterwards, he apologised walking down the tunnel, and I have no problem at all with him, you just get along with it."

Hamann hits out at Riera

Former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann has launched a withering attack on Reds winger Albert Riera after he went public with his frustration at not getting a game under manager Rafael Benitez.

The Spain international said Benitez did not speak to him and claimed he bore a personal grudge. However, Hamann, who made 283 appearances for the Merseysiders and memorably came on for the second half in their Champions League final comeback against AC Milan in 2005, said Riera should look at himself.

"I didn't read too much into the comments because he's a player who has not played too much football over the last six to eight months," said the former Germany international.

Hamann continued: "He is clearly frustrated but you have to say since he signed for Liverpool (in September 2008) he has not done enough to really have an opinion on the manager.

"If Riera is not in the team it is probably because he is not doing enough in training or in games. You have players these days who complain about managers and I think these players should look at themselves.

"The first question you have to ask when you are not playing is have you done enough to be in the team.

"These days it happens too often with players who can't get in the team and the first thing they do is blame the manager.

"I can honestly say I have never had a problem with a manager in 15 years of my career and I would never blame a manager for not playing."

In his interview, Riera told Radio Marca: "When the coach says nothing to you and you are well, with no physical problems and training well, you cannot help but think it must be something personal."

Albert Riera has indicated that he wants to leave Liverpool after revealing that his relationship with Rafael Benítez has deteriorated to the point where he thinks the manager has something against him.

In an outspoken attack on Benítez, Riera said the manager "turns a deaf ear" to his players and described Liverpool as a "sinking ship". He also questioned whether his fellow Spaniard was suited to the Real Madrid job because his style of football is not attractive enough.

Riera has played only twice for Liverpool since the end of January, making one start and one substitute's appearance in the Europa League, and the midfielder is giving serious consideration to asking for a transfer in an effort to earn a place in Spain's World Cup squad.

"When the coach doesn't say anything to you and you are in good shape with no physical problems and training well, you have no choice but to think [the fact you are not playing] is personal," Riera said. "The team's playing badly and needs changes. If I'm doing something badly and you're my boss and you trust in me, then you would tell me what I am doing wrong and what I have to do to play. [The fact that Benítez has not said anything] is what most hurts.

"Right now the only market open is the Russian one. I have offers from two clubs and, given my situation, that has made me reflect a lot ... My objective is to go to the World Cup and for that to happen I have to play."

Riera said he was not alone in having communication problems with Benítez. "He thinks he is in charge and he just turns a deaf ear to everyone else," he told Radio Marca in Spain. "The dialogue with the players is practically non-existent. There is a lack of tact."

Asked about Benítez's credentials for Madrid, where Manuel Pellegrini is not expected to be in charge next season, Riera said: "At Madrid they ask you to win and play lovely football. We are effective, sure, but we don't play brilliant football."

Not too subtle is it? Riera is trying to make staying at Liverpool untenable, and so there's nothing like giving your employers a healthy dose of bad publicity on the eve of two season defining matches. As a player he could be inconsistent, but I liked having him in the squad as he was a genuine left-sided attacker (Yossi and Babel are/ have the potential to be better players, but they aren't natural on the left). But as to Riera saying that Benitez "thinks he is in charge...", umm well, he kinda is. Another "footballer is not too bright shocker" I guess.

Rafael Benítez's worst fears over the fitness of Yossi Benayoun and Albert Riera have been confirmed after the Liverpool midfielders were diagnosed with torn hamstrings that could sideline them for a month.

The Liverpool manager has been beset by injury problems during a dreadful sequence of one win in nine games and immediately suspected hamstring tears after the duo limped out of Monday's draw with Birmingham City.

Scans have confirmed Benítez's worries and, although the club have refused to put a timeframe on their recovery, they are expected to be out for around three to four weeks. Riera was absent for three weeks with his initial hamstring injury, only to aggravate the problem just 45 minutes into his return against Alex McLeish's side.

The losses of Riera and particularly Benayoun represent major setbacks for Benítez, who, with the notable exception of Fernando Torres, had reason to believe his injury crisis was easing before the Birmingham game. Benayoun and Riera will almost certainly miss the home game with Manchester City on 21 November plus the European trip to Hungary to face Debrecen three days later.

Liverpool must beat the Hungarian champions Debrecen to retain hope of advancing from the Champions League group stage, although qualification will be beyond Benítez's team should Fiorentina defeat Lyon in Italy on the same night.

The demanding sequence continues for Liverpool with the first Merseyside derby of the season at Everton on 29 November, when the Israel captain and Spain international could still be absent.

Liverpool should today discover the full extent of the calf problem that forced Glen Johnson's withdrawal from the England squad to meet Brazil in Doha this weekend. The right-back has been hindered by calf and groin injuries in recent weeks, and Daniel Agger withdrew from Denmark's squad for friendlies against South Korea and the United States after suffering a reaction to a persistent back problem against Birmingham. Liverpool are hopeful, however, that the Dane's complaint will not cause another long-term lay-off.

Torres and Steven Gerrard are continuing to receiving daily treatment on their respective hernia and adductor problems as Liverpool attempt to eradicate the need for their key talents to undergo surgery. "We will see how he reacts," Benítez said of the Spain striker yesterday. "We are not considering an operation yet. We haven't got a deadline. We just need to see how he is every day."

Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool winger Albert Riera after he was dropped for the Reds’ opening weekend defeat at Spurs.

The Spain left-sider was left perplexed and annoyed by Rafa Benitez’ decision to leave him out of the squad when he wanted to open the new campaign with a bang.

Liverpool’s pre-match suggestion that Riera was not fit was news to the 27-year-old former Espanyol man, who could not understand why he had been left out to accommodate Ryan Babel in the starting line-up.

Babel’s anonymous display only reinforced that view and has alerted Spain’s big two as well as Atletico Madrid, seeking to bolster their squad for the Champions League campaign.

Riera’s admission on international duty last week, that “I would like to come back to Spain at some point” was noted by all three clubs after the player went to see Benitez to try to discover his anticipated role in the Liverpool side.

The Spanish sides have been made aware that Riera, who cost £8million on deadline day last term and scored five goals in 40 appearances for the Anfield outfit, could be available before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Riera believes he should be a regular starter, rather than just part of Benitez’s rotation policy, especially in World Cup year when he is looking to cement his place in Vicente Del Bosque’s squad for South Africa.

And if Liverpool are willing to listen to offers, the winger may be willing to leave English football for a second time after his six months on loan at Manchester City was not extended in 2006.

1. Her name is Yulia Korolyova (Юлия Королёва), she lived in Omsk, Russia (that's in Siberia, just a few hours away from where I live, lol)
2. They met at Mallorca in 2001 when he was 19 and she was 23. He saw her at a discoteque and thought she was very beautiful, later they started dating and just in one month they were already living together at Mallorca (she spoke Spanish a bit then)
3. They have a daughter named Alejandra Riera-Korolyova, she was born last october, they plan on teaching her Russian, Spanish and English (a/n: poor child)
4. Yulia is friends with Yolanda and Olalla
