I am new to this lovely community, so I decided to say Hi by gaining your attention with a picspam...
First up is Per Mertesacker, 25- years- old, German, central back defender, very tall, something between skinny and muscular and just over all lovely and, a turn- on for me, intelligent and well- articulated... He has a lovely deep voice that is very calm, just like his whole persona, actually...
He was paired up with Arne Friedrich during the World Cup and did not really play well during the first stage- matches, unfortunately, which just was a continuation from his Bundesliga- season which could have gone better, and was topped off by his handplay during the DFB- finale against Bayern Munich which resulted in a penalty which then started the slaughter of Werder Bremen... :(
He is one of the fairest defenders in the Bundesliga, and probably also in the Wrodl Cup, with barely any yellow cards for someone in his position, and only two red cards in 5 years in professional football...
And he's a very cuddly type...

The Chelsea full-back has been linked with a move to Real Madrid where he would be reunited with former Blues manager Jose Mourinho and Higuain has told Cole that he would enjoy a quieter life if he were to sign for the Spanish side.
"At Madrid, Cole's football will make all the headlines, not his private life. I think that will be a big incentive for him," Higuain is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"I have spoken with a couple of senior players who the club confide in and they are very confident that we will sign him in the next few weeks."

The Peruvian hopes to become Bundesliga champion with Werder and sees Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Schalke as the team’s top competition for the title. "It will be a tough task, but when I look around I see that quality to win the Bundesliga," said Pizarro. The main thing is consistency. "We cannot have a phase where we lose four or five games in a short stretch. That cost us better placings in the past two season," said Pizarro.
That’s why the Peruvian is so much looking forward to the first real test against SC Freiburg on Friday. "We have worked hard and will finally be able to see where we stand. We have to give everything we have to be fit straight away on the first game day. And some games against big clubs are just right," said Pizarro. He once again wants to do his part offensively for a strong season. "Of course I want to score goals. But I don’t want to say how many," said Pizarro. "What’s important is only that we win the Bundesliga." He added with a smile: "Okay, well it should be more than 10 goals for sure."
Pizarro is also motivated looking forward to the international stage, where he hopes to once again show his qualities after a years-long dispute with the former Peruvian national team coach. "I can imagine that in the coming weeks or just before the transfer window closes, one club or another will begin to press us a little harder," said Aloffs, according to sports agency SID, an affiliate of AFP. "We will have to listen to those offers if that is what Mesut and his advisors want.
"As for our discussions (with Ozil), we have not been able to reach an agreement."
Ozil was one of the stars of the recent World Cup in South Africa when he was at the heart of the German team which came third. Various clubs have been linked with him this summer, notably, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf said that Frings, 33, had been bothered by the problem for a few months and that surgery could not be avoided.

I appreciate Torsten very much, and we don't know precisely what happened in his marriage with Petra, so I think that any judgement about this is just everyone's own opinion, not being the "real" truth.

I just found out some interesting article about the reasons why football players usually got married early. As you might know, Torsten Frings has announced some days ago that he and his wife Petra are separated - at least temporarily.
They make some reference to Torsten and Petra marriage as well, in a quite balanced way. They interviewed some specialists who claim that it's very interesting to the clubs having young married football players.
Since here we have total interest about the football way of life, I think that it could be interesting for some of you.

Nike just launched a new brand campaign featuring the Werder Bremen guys. The video is absolutely hot.
Torsten Frings, Clemens Fritz and their not so attractive but equally lovely fellows Tim Wiese, Naldo and Mezut Ozil show us their very strong, beautiful bodys. The video message is very powerful, I think - despite I cannot understand a word to whatever the narrator is talking ;)

German Cup holder Bremen said Wednesday that both clubs agreed not to disclose details of the transfer.
The 20-year-old Marin will strengthen a Bremen team that will be without its Brazilian playmaker Diego next season after he secured a move to Juventus.
"He is one of the biggest talents in German football," coach Thomas Schaaf said. "Marko is a very young player, but one who already has some successes to show ... we are convinced that he can become a very important player for us."
Marin made his Bundesliga debut in March 2007 and has played six matches so far for Germany.
