River Plate faces the worst crisis in the club's 110 years of history. After losing 2-0 against Belgrano de Córdoba, the team is on the edge of being relegated to second division. They must win by at least 2-0 at home on Sunday to be saved.

Tension showed last night when a bunch of fans broke into the field in the middle of the game to threaten some of the players, mainly Arano and Roman - the latter being risponsible for the penalty which gave Belgrano the lead. Almeyda, probably the only man in the team respected and supported by fans, approached to back up his teammates and received encouraging words by the "fans". The veteran player, who came back from his retirement because he missed his club, was later seen on the verge of tears, same as coach JJ López.

River has only obtained 12 out of the 30 points played at the Monumental during this tournament, and hasn't won any of the last 8 games.

A meeting will be held today to see if the next game at River's stadium will be played without fans. River tickets had sold out 2 hours after the sale started.

What those barras did was disgusting. That is not River. They don't represent the River fans. And I say this as a San Lorenzo fan. Disgusting pieces of shit. Pushing and threatening players? Do they really think they'll play better after that? With that tension?
Why didn't you push and threaten Aguilar while he was destroying the club? (And by "you" I mean these barras, don't get me wrong, I'm not talking about the actual fans).
And the police, as always, USELESS. They always ALLOW these things to happen during matches. Those images break my heart, it's terrible.

I know right? For example, the last "incident" the SL fans had was against Velez at our stadium. Which wouldn't have happened if the police hadn't allowed them to stay for 30 minutes after that match was over. It was obvious that if they didn't make them leave someone else would try to, but they just stood there. And of course, when all hell broke loose, they were all ready to throw tear gases and shit to the stands with families and little kids. ¬¬

Aguilar, our president from 2001 til 2009, basically stole from us, fucked the club up, and left. Then Passarella was voted as president and everyone thought things were going to change, he promised us to do many things that he never did. we all had patience because it's not like he could do much at first, with the club in the conditions it'd been left in.

but now it's been 2 years and we're worse than back then, as far as football goes, at least. and there's been rumours that Passarella is just doing the same shit as Aguilar (they've always been on the same "party" and Passarella changed shortly before the elections), and that he basically promised to get us relegated so that the AFA could close its debt with TyC Sports, the TV channel that used to air all fb matches until the rights were taken away from them, and now only airs second division. (basically, they promised TyC to have one "big" team relegated so that they'd have more viewers again).
