FRONK LOMPORD EYES FUTURE IN MANAGEMENT
(Don't just eye it, do it!)

Frank Lampard has revealed his desire to enter football management after taking inspiration from the likes of Jose Mourinho, Fabio Capello and Guus Hiddink.

The England and Chelsea midfielder had originally intended to quit football after eventually hanging up his boots.

But Lampard admitted he has found a renewed appetite to remain part of the game further down the line when his distinguished playing career comes to an end.

Lampard said: "I will take my coaching badges at some stage to be in a position where it (management) is a big possibility for me. "I would love to work with players when I eventually stop playing.

"It is true that a few years ago I didn't feel like going into the management side of things once I stopped playing. I was thinking more along the lines of getting away from football.

"But now I am a bit older. I look at younger players and I've worked with so many good managers, and it gives you the taste to maybe get involved.''

Uh, I don't think he's going to be wearing this next season

...same goes for the guy on the left?

Liverpool probably don't need to wear their away kits at the Bernabeu but I can understand wanting to use those kits as often as possible.

The guys at Adidas also need to hire a new photoshopper

some are these are fug but I bet they'll look better once they're taken off

Kaka set to be confirmed as a Real Madrid player

Brazil international Kaka appears certain to be confirmed as a Real Madrid player after completing a medical on Monday.

The 27-year-old AC Milan playmaker was given permission to meet with Real officials between World Cup qualifiers against Uruguay and Paraguay and is thought to have passed both initial tests and a full medical at the national team's base in Recife.

Providing there are no last-minute problems Kaka will become Real's first signing following the return of Florentino Perez as club president.

If the deal is concluded the fee is expected to be £56m, which would smash the previous world record of £47m paid by Real to Juventus in 2001 for Zinedine Zidane and could be the first in a new wave of 'Galáctico' signings.

Kaka, who converted a penalty in Brazil's 4-0 win in Uruguay on Saturday, has refused to discuss his future since joining up with the Brazil squad last Tuesday.

When he last spoke publically about his future, Kaka insisted he was desperate to stay at the San Siro, but the economic realities of such a huge transfer fee mean Milan are eager to do business in order to provide new boss Leonardo with transfer funds. Ironically, it was Leonardo who helped persuade Kaka to join Milan from São Paulo in 2003.

Confirming that the medical had taken place a statement on the Brazilian Football Federation website read: ''The technical committee of the Brazilian national team attended the request of Kaka and the board of Real Madrid and released the player to perform the routine examinations in a clinic in Recife.

''The CBF had to make all the arrangements for the test through its Medical Department head Jose Luiz Runco, who accompanied the player during the tests.''

Regardless of whether a deal is completed on Monday or early on Tuesday Real Madrid will have to wait before they can parade Kaka at the Santiago Bernabeu due to Kaka's commitments with Brazil.

After entertaining Paraguay in Recife on Wednesday, Brazil begin their Confederations Cup campaign against Egypt next Monday and will be in action until June 28 if they make it through the tournament.

Report: Fulham Rival Tottenham For Real Madrid's Van Nistelrooy
Ruud van Nistelrooy will have a choice if he is told to leave Real Madrid as a second London club want him.

Tottenham Hotspur will not have a clear run in their bid to prise Ruud van Nistelrooy away from Real Madrid after Fulham registered their interest, according to a report.

The Dutch striker is seen as surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu by the new regime that has just taken charge and the club is welcoming offers.

Van Nistelrooy missed the majority of last term with a knee injury, but is back in full training and is expected to be ready to play again when pre-season starts across Europe in July.

Reports in England last week suggested that Tottenham had been told that they could sign van Nistelrooy for as little as £1.5 million (€1.7m).

With Roman Pavlyuchenko and Darren Bent both rumoured to be leaving White Hart Lane this summer, the former Manchester United forward would become first choice in Harry Redknapp's side.

That looked to be enough to persuade him to move back to the Premier League and to north London, but now ambitious Fulham have entered the picture, according to The Daily Telegraph.

After qualifying for Europe for next season, manager Roy Hodgson wants to add some experience to his squad and believes that van Nistelrooy would raise the club's profile too.

I was dreaming about French spam-post, but I have to share this information. 'Cause this is really cute and good.

On 3 June in Lyon in the hotel of Les Bleus 23 winners of game "Dream Drive" (or smth like that) met with Les Bleus. They spent together all day. They were teached by French NT and Raymon Domenech with his stuff. Children got autographs, photos, and many-many other things.

Now tell me what the hell? Why didn't I partcipate in that "Dream Drive"? I'm too old for that, but who cares? if you spend all day with Yoann Gourcuff, Karim Benzema, Patrice Evra and others! Oh really.

Lucky children )

On 4 June Kevin Dageri was chosen as the goalkeeper only. He had training with Hugo Lloris, Steve Mandanda and Cédric Carrasso.

............ )

On 5 June children could feel themselves as sportive journalists and take pre-match (France-Turkey) interviews.

aren't they? )

At 21:00 on 5 June Les Bleus had walking in Parc de la Tête d'Or and had group photo with stuff, presented new suits and other things.

So since the US Soccer people are currently on a 16-hour flight to South Africa and I'll be at work all day tomorrow, I'm going ahead and posting this now without their pictures because I am ridiculously impatient.

Okay, so here's my take on the game: the US puts out a fairly good lineup. They started out decently, and then in the 5th minute, Clint Dempsey makes a huge mistake around midfield, loses the ball, and Honduras takes advantage and scores. Morale is pretty much shot, since it was already pretty bad from the Costa Rica game. They struggle for a bit. Then slowly and surely, they start getting back into the game. Players like Jonathan Spector (♥!) and Ricardo Clark start stepping up. Then right before halftime, the US gets a clear penalty, Landon Donovan does his pre-pk--ritual and puts it in the back of the net. So the game goes in at halftime tied at 1. Then Bob makes the master switch and takes out Pablo Mastroeni and puts in Benny Feilhaber. And that was pretty much the spark that the team needed to start fighting back and eventually score another goal through some good work between Landon, Clint, and eventually Carlos Bocanegra. 30+ minutes later, the Yanks have held down the fort and have gotten their first come-from-behind victory in a World Cup Qualifier since 1985. And now it's off to the confederation's cup!

(alternatively, US Soccer's match report is here, quote sheet here.)

Kaka says leaving Milan on good terms

By Pedro Fonseca

RIO DE JANEIRO, June 8 (Reuters) - Brazilian playmaker Kaka said Monday that he was leaving AC Milan for Real Madrid on good terms and he understood that financial worries had forced the Italian club to sell him.

“I’m not disappointed in my relationship with Milan,” he told reporters in the Brazil team hotel in Recife at a news conference broadcast live on television.

“There has never been a (financial) crisis like this one, I understand perfectly the club’s position and I’m very grateful to Milan and the president,” added Kaka, who joined the Rossoneri in 2003.

The 27-year-old has agreed to a six-year contract to join Real, which reports have said involves a transfer fee of around 68 million euros ($94.27 million), the second biggest ever. Zinedine Zidane joined Real from Juventus for around 73 million euros in 2001.

“I’ve won everything that I wanted as a player and this is a new motivation for me,” Kaka said.

“The club needed to make this sacrifice, and I understand this very well. I don’t blame the club for this.

“Everything I’ve done for Milan has been by mutual agreement, from the moment I arrived until my departure today.”

“I’m leaving by the front door.”
