UEFA opens disciplinary case against Busquets

UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against FC Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets, who is alleged to have violated Article 11 bis of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations by directing racist abuse towards a Real Madrid CF player in the UEFA Champions League semi-final first leg between the clubs on 27 April.

The proceedings have been launched on the basis of evidence provided by Real Madrid (video and statement of club and player). The UEFA Control and Disciplinary Body will deal with the case on Sunday 15 May and the decision will be communicated to the club on Monday 16 May.

I'm just glad they finally decided to do something about it. What do you think the outcome will be?

RM being busy with unveiling conspiracy theories and forgetting about the real issue, OR playing the race card, just because there is a probable cause?

and while everyone is crying "but this transcends football rivalries," I for one, can clearly see that it does not, what with the way they are acting.

I can't even bring myself to fight I'm so angry and tired.

OH AND I DIDN'T REALIZE THERE WAS NO MIDDLE GROUND BETWEEN BEING A SAINT AND A RACIST.

LOLLLLL that's laughable, "mu" and "mo" look very different

You are such a beautiful person.

[identity profile] verses.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Uh, you have to defend racism?

If this were my club, I would be eviscerating him.

[identity profile] verses.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
So basically it's okay to have a racist player on your team as long as they aren't convicted

[identity profile] runandtelldat.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh...okay.

[identity profile] sashaj22.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
haha not surprised. Especially since the club's VP said "THESE THINGS HAPPEN ALL THE TIME IN FOOTBALL!!1!1!!!"

[identity profile] francinefrenski.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
did he really wow

[identity profile] nefertitii.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:58 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm im pretty sure there was a complaint by rm about the racist issue right away..

[identity profile] verses.livejournal.com 2011-05-12 11:59 pm (UTC)(link)
WOW YOU ARE SERIOUSLY DELUSIONAL, I CAN'T EVEN. We're bashing them because of WHAT they said. Seriously, do you need me to link you to where Madridistas said "this does not represent FCB, if they say they're investigating then all the fault is on Busquets" when it first happened? Your club couldn't even fucking say "UEFA will decide." They have to impugn UEFA and flatly deny it. So, yeah, if the options are "ignore it" or "come up with bullshit racist-sympathizing denials," it is a lose/lose.

It's disgusting that those are apparently the only options in your (and FCB)'s eyes.

Yup, it was one of the initial charges rejected.

[identity profile] cynicalsnark.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
The racist incident was included with our complaints about unsportsmanlike behaviour, which was filed the day after.

IDK where the fuck 2 weeks came from...we even acknowledged it in a press conference before the 2nd leg.

[identity profile] verses.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
do you also hide under tables and put your fingers in your ears

somehow i doubt you'd take that approach if a barca player insulted your mother

LOL I can't with that club anymore.

[identity profile] nefertitii.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
and pep even said before the 2nd leg.. that 'whats in the past is in the past"

[identity profile] verses.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
LOL WTF, Madrid reported the racism weeks ago. It was in the original appeal! It was on the website!

btw, not a single Madridista on _fb said this was reflective of FCB's ideals UNTIL they remained silent for days and days and then Pep shrugged it off as a mistake. No one was going to blame your club for your player's actions until your club's inaction validated his racism.

I guess we should be sorry our complaints came a day late. We fuckin should've used smoke signals or falcons from the pitch itself.

[identity profile] sashaj22.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
haha thanks, btw. Now adding a note to each of these members: "excuses racism"

[identity profile] francinefrenski.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
wow embarrassing does not even begin to explain that

[identity profile] harrypotterlvr3.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:09 am (UTC)(link)

LMAO I was JUST calling out Kitty elsewhere for this bullshit before.

Pulling the race card... I cannot.

[identity profile] ttentten.livejournal.com 2011-05-13 12:10 am (UTC)(link)

isn't probably my business but anyway

i think that u can support the team without supporting the club. erm the following might sounds strange but i'm gonna explain it with an example - so ok, let's take, say, mel gibson. he's accused of beating his wife. so, that's disgusting and no-one should make excuses for him, right? but then. let's say that i love his movie Braveheart. so now i have this info - mel gibson has beaten his wife and he's a despicable human being - and here comes the question: am i still allowed to like his movies? if he's gonna make a very good movie next year, am i allowed to like his acting work? this is pretty much like, well - FCB hasn't reacted the best way possible in this situation, but am i still allowed to like the team? like. the club is the actor, the team is the great role he's acted in. hahah good luck if u understood what i mean.

that's pretty much how i see it. i still like barca as a team. as a club... respect is pretty much gone, but. i don't see how i can't ~truly support the players without supporting the club. on wembley i will cheer for them like mad. (well, had it been real, i would cheer for them for my hate against manutd is so strong, so.) but it's just. uhm here comes the language barrier, i'm not capable of saying half the stuff i'd like to, but. yeah. i just get very fucking frustrated about the whole thing

also lol "i've been called a racist as well." maybe it's because you are... somehow i've managed to go over 2 decades without being called a racist. it's really not that hard.
