Here's your daily Spanish press transfer shit storm and trust me, today it's GOOD...

Apparently, Valencia has now decided they don't want to sell David Villa after putting him on the market last month. Villa's agent is not amused. This makes me think that Señor Bitchface's decision wasn't really to stay at Mestalla.
The David Villa saga appears to have taken a huge twist this afternoon with reports in Spain claiming that Valencia have declared he is no longer for sale.
The forward was thought to be on the verge of a move to Real Madrid but this looks to be in doubt now and he could stay on at the Mestalla.
Marca reports that the news filtered in this morning when Villa's agent Jose Luis Tamargo met with Valencia president Manuel Llorente to discuss a move to Madrid.
The intention of Tamargo was to start from scratch and to try and reach a deal that both Valencia and Madrid could agree on.
However, the outcome of the meeting was very different as Llorente told him that Villa is not for sale to any club.
Speaking immediately afterwards to Sport, Tamargo explained that "they have changed their idea. Now they say that they do not want to sell and he does not have a price, so they have told me".
Tamargo is now set to release a statement within the next few hours explaining in full the situation of the Valencia striker.
Villa himself is currently in Spain with the national team as they prepare for their next Confederations Cup match with South Africa this weekend.
He has apparently been told about the decision by Valencia but it is not known what his reaction has been.

In other, even more lol-worthy news, Manchester United is apparently set to put in a bid for Iker Casillas. I'm the farthest thing from a madridista but the thought makes my stomach churn.
I love how one of the commenters on the Marca site says that for him to move to Manchester, they'd have to find a way to move Móstoles along with him :')
In other Madrid news, As is reporting that you can now buy the new RM shirts but that the only Names/Numbers availables are those of Casillas, Raúl and Sergio Ramos. Make of that what you will.

Date: 2009-06-19 03:35 pm (UTC)Valencia are such teases. I bet they never intended on selling him anyway, they just wanted to make as many big clubs as possible look stupid.
I don't get how they can afford not to sell though.
And looooooool Iker would never leave Madrid for Man U.

Date: 2009-06-19 03:43 pm (UTC)... less disturbingly, blah to both these items. And why the fuck do United need a goalkeeper?! We've got Edwin, who is pretty darn awesome and we've got Ben as a good new talent coming up. Whyyyyyyyy would we go after a goalkeeper, especially THAT goalkeeper?!
Stalking & typing with bloody hands. Scary, no?
Date: 2009-06-19 04:07 pm (UTC)*pride* You tell them Poldi.
... But if you don't want either of them, I hear there's a little club in Kent who might be without a goalkeeper soon.
I refuse to speak to you, rat-face hater!
From:SEE! You admit it! He's a rat! .... SPEAK TO ME!
From:... okay, I'll talk to you. But only because we like rats at Old Trafford.

Date: 2009-06-19 03:51 pm (UTC)As for Iker, as completely and utterly loco the idea of him actually transferring, part of me wants him to learn english (more than what Pepe "taught" him). With that said, I would rather gorge out my eyes with ice picks than see him play for Manchester United.

Date: 2009-06-19 04:17 pm (UTC)I've been reading rumors that Villa is about to leave Valencia (and David Silva as well) since I started following football three years ago. Reading his interviews, I aways got the impression that he doesn't really want to go- the decisive factor is Valencia's money situation- he doesn't have much of a choice on the matter, he is subject to the whims of people and institutions above his head.
I'm really trying not to take any of these rumors too seriously- if they were all true, half the players would have been sold three times over. Whatever happens, I'll just have to live with.

Date: 2009-06-19 04:31 pm (UTC)Interesting...then why is this pic with Higuain promoting the new jersey up on the RM site?
Shouldn't it be one of the three then if only those numbers are available? Makes no sense to me. AND if Raul's number is being offered then I guess CR is going to have to get another number because they both can't have #7 now can they?
Weird...
