New coach for Inter

Messi changed his tattoo. He's blacked it up

Messi's tattoo development through the years

Eh, I have England gossip, but I can't be arsed to post it right now. Trump, I mean- the hell? In December he has to contest charges that he raped a minor but people are still cool with that?

OP: done! Cheers, jeers, corrections and commentary pushback - you know the drill

What a fucking shitshow. I thought Brexit was bad, this is a fuckfest of infinite proportions. Imagine Newt Gingrich as the Secretary of State.

You know, this really makes me appreciate that even when my country has a leader, for multiple terms, whose party I'd not vote for, she's not going to burn the place down and impose horrible policies. In fact, until she for some reason took a stand over the refugee issue of all things, she didn't do anything much.

This is a nightmare with long-lasting repercussions. I can't stop shaking my head.

I'm so concerned - for a plethora of things - and not just as a black woman, as a human being. This election, his campaign - so much deep-seated hatred and disturbing faith in "change".

This sucks.

I'm not American, but I feel you so much. The Trump campaign was run on an ideological platform that was meant to discriminate anyone isn't a white male. I think what's more disappointing is that despite everything, a large majority of people, people of colour, WOMEN, still ended up voting for him. I'm so sorry :(

One of the scariest things about the lawsuits is if Trump gets indicted America gets Pence instead, who genuinely believes in the far right fucktwattery that Trump was merely espousing to get votes. Trump is basically Blatter, and will turn to wherever the biggest cheque is coming from, but Pence is in it because he believes in it.

Tbh, am not even surprised. This is less of a shock to me than Brexit. Wave the star-spangled banner at working class America and they'll be all over you like an adoring rash. Trump fed them what they wanted to hear and they blindly believed that the multi-millionaire with a hit-and-miss business record from New York (you know, one of the eeeeevil elitists working America believes conspires to keep the common man downtrodden) genuinely wants to help them move up the economic ladder. And do away with all them icky foreigners. It'll be funny watching the dawning realization sink in when they finally realize they've elected a man with NO political experiences at all to take on the most politically-charged job in the world. Just a shame they've dragged the rest of America along for the upcoming 4-year ride.

I wouldn't have been more or less had Hillary won, though. Am just baffled that America somehow ended up with these two as their leading candidates. Just ... HOW??

Btw, Messi ... that new tattoo is horrendous.

On the other hand, Trump winning has paved the way for other non-politicians. You know what that means ...

Because at this stage, why the fuck not? If America's gonna pick incompetent blow-hards might as well get a rap album out of it and maybe even a rap battle during an presidential debate! Who doesn't want to hear Kanye accuse Trump of "Not caring about black people" while Trump insists he's "got a great relationship with the blacks"? Meanwhile, Kim's making duckface selfies just off the podium in another ill-fitting latex dress. If you're gonna go crazy, America, GO CRAZY!!

Man, this BLOWS. Probably slept less than two hours total last night, my brain just couldn't switch off.

A brutally honest assessment here: The “Deplorables” Got the Last Laugh (https://newrepublic.com/article/138615/deplorables-got-last-laugh)

In the final analysis, 2016 wasn’t a fear election. It wasn’t like 2004, when George Bush and Dick Cheney repeatedly raised the threat of terror. (And if we’re honest, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats this year often appealed to fear—of a Trump presidency.) No, this was a rage election: a rage built up over many years, among people who’d decided they were disrespected, abandoned, and voiceless.

Liberals weren’t completely caught unawares. We recognized the rage—how could we not? We saw it in our social-media feeds all year. We read (and wrote) endless articles featuring reporters edging out to Red America armed with a notebook and a pretense of empathy, to see what Trumpism was all about, why the fever seemed to be running so high among these people.

And what did that produce? The daily filling of a basket of deplorables. I sometimes refer to it as “point-and-laugh” liberalism. Our relentless mockery of Trump and his followers helped fuel the backlash and make it spread.

like it's one of my biggest criticisms of Democrats / so-called liberals. There is definitely some classism at work in the USA that people like Trump can feed on and manipulate and the DNC and blogosphere likes to pretend is just a small group of angry people.

Which is double sad bc the GOP only GAF about them until they get the vote.

And in all honesty - Clinton was a weak candidate. May or may not have been amazing in office but as a candidate was ridic weak and would have had a harder time if someone like Biden (who is one of the few people who can speak to blue collar voters) entered the race.

Oh. I was hoping it was a weird dream I had this morning/afternoon. :(

At the start of BBC's coverage they said something interesting, about how segregated parties are. Different media is consumed, a Dem wouldn't watch Fox news unless forced. Maybe you wouldn't want to date someone who supports another party (voting Republican, especially Trump, is a dumping offence to me). Like with Brexit, people underestimated how big that other scummy, scared, bigoted, unintellectual side is because we don't see it in the places we go and hope it's only a few nutters.

I live in a liberal bubble, but often force myself to listen to right wing talk radio just to get a read on what others outside the bubble are feeling/thinking. Still, is wasn't until after closely following both Republican and Democratic conventions that I began to fear the worst could actually happen -- those conventions bolded, italicized, and underlined the divide in this country.

we lost power at our field office yesterday, as thousands of volunteers from Massachusetts were arriving and trying to sign in. we had no wifi to sign them in until a few people set up mobile hotspots. the guys from Eversource told us last night that it was apparently a scheduled outage for maintenance, but at 11am while the coffeeshop, hobby store, and GNC were attempting to conduct business? I don't buy it.
