Women's World Cup USA 5- 2 Japan

Credit to the yanks for getting the sport before it was even a 'thing' world wide for women. Title X, right?

All 16 national federations for the teams that failed to get out of the group stage at the 2014 men’s World Cup received $8 million from FIFA. That was $6 million more than the winning national federation will receive at this year’s Women’s World Cup, and that is just the start of the disparity.”

I thought the match was today, LOL at me. Anyway, just as well, the scoreline suggests a slaughter. Not Germany vs Brazil type, but still, if I'd stayed up for that I'd have been annoyed

USA got a hat trick against Japan in sixteen minutes, and The Daily Mail calls it 'a thriller'. LOL

OP: Done! Any cheers, jeers, corrections and commentary pushback, you know the drill! Cheers

FIFA plays a third-place playoff between the two semifinal losers, but since many soccer fans ignore it, our system will too.

Um, what. We don't (at least, I don't) ignore third place playoff at all. Yeah, it's a battle of losers but third place is still an achievement (and a medal).

And no one ever looks at 'dynasty runs'. It's all about titles.

I think maybe 538 recently wrote an article about the Blackhawks "dynasty" (they're a hockey team based out of Chicago) but it makes more sense because they play for their cup yearly instead of every 4 years... though fuck them. I fucking hate the Hawks thinking about them makes me froth at the mouth in rage. It takes a special kind of fandom to make people *outside* of your fandom hate your team so viciously.

Yeah, I think it would make more sense if they wrote about a club dynasty like Arsenal winning the FA Cup or Barca winning the treble.
