In 'your favs disappointing you' news...

Marco Reus fined 540,000 euros for driving without a license for 3 years

source : bild article sadly behind paywall but posted in a tumblr post

e: apparently he also received five speeding tickets during that time, but no-one ever noticed he didn't have a license o_O

e2: someone from reddit translated a quote from the man himself:

He took driving lessons when he was 18 but never took a driving test. He just decided to drive without a licence. "Sadly I decided to take this route. I can't even comprehend the reasons myself. Now I know: I was too naive and it was stupid. I have learnt my lesson. It will never happen again."

e3: can't believe it took me so long to remember his nickname is Rolls Reus.

You were ahead of the curve with your passport. I didn't have a photo ID until I started driving, but then I am old and from the age of no school IDs other than yearbook photos. I had...a library card! (Was in my late 20s when I finally got a passport.)

I think I only had a passport because I went on a family trip abroad the year before haha. I lost my physical library card a while ago, but I don't think mine ever had a photo or anything on it. Never thought about using that as an ID, although I guess it could work!

My library card didn't have a picture, just my signature. I doubt anyone would've accepted it as a legit ID, but it was all I haaaad (until I got my permit/license). I still have my 2nd library card in my wallet, actually. I refused to let them switch it over to a new card/number when they switched to a new checkout system (they were just being lazy and didn't want to troubleshoot it at first).

I was trying to remember what was done for standardized tests, and I think they were generally held at my school and run by our teachers. So, it was more likely that they knew you and you couldn't pretend to be someone else that easily. I only took AP English, but our teacher ran that test in our school library (the librarian might've filled in for part of it, too).
