In 'your favs disappointing you' news...

Marco Reus fined 540,000 euros for driving without a license for 3 years

source : bild article sadly behind paywall but posted in a tumblr post

e: apparently he also received five speeding tickets during that time, but no-one ever noticed he didn't have a license o_O

e2: someone from reddit translated a quote from the man himself:

He took driving lessons when he was 18 but never took a driving test. He just decided to drive without a licence. "Sadly I decided to take this route. I can't even comprehend the reasons myself. Now I know: I was too naive and it was stupid. I have learnt my lesson. It will never happen again."

e3: can't believe it took me so long to remember his nickname is Rolls Reus.

yeah. i am disappoint :/

So, this means he is perfect for....a Real Madrid transfer? XD

Trying to think of clubs where it would not be that shocking, but I think even they are not that clueless. Maybe one of the London clubs since someone not having a license wouldn't be that uncommon. ;-P

Actually, I think this might be a strike against him if he actually wanted to go to Real, since isn't Audi one of their big sponsors? They might not be thrilled, haha. No yearly? new car for you, Marco!

Well Audi is also the sponsor of Bayern and they get a shiny car too.

Oh noez.

Marco, your transfer options may be limited for a while.... XD Although the press would probably have a field day every time they did "and the vehicles they got this year, are..." articles.

in England, driving w/o a licence is jail time

As in, if you don't have a licence at all, not in your name, that's at least a suspended sentence. Reus isn't poor, and his car is flash, why would he just stop and not get his licence?

I guess I was thinking he wouldn't have to really drive in London. Driving in London sounds like it would be a headache...traffic, finding parking. Of course if you are a celebrity, public transportation would probably not appeal, but I don't know if the players there opt for drivers or not. Paying someone else to deal with it for you sounds better. (Marco just sounds like one of those people who drive just to drive fast and that's not gonna to be happening at all in a large city.)

But I definitely agree, he should've gotten his license *way* before now.
