What a inconvenient time for the Clasico. Hopefully I can watch the last 15 minutes.

Spurs XI: Lloris, Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Vertonghen, Dembele, Sandro, Lennon, Bale, Dempsey and Defoe
Subs: Friedel, Dawson, Huddlestone, Townsend, Sigurdsson, Falque and Adebayor #COYS

Aston Villa XI: Guzan; Lowton, Vlaar, Clark, Bennett; El Ahmadi, Delph, Albrighton, Holman; Agbonlahor, Benteke
Subs: Given, Bent, N'Zogbia, Lichaj, Bannan, Westwood, Weimann.

RIP to Friedel's consecutive game streak. The Times reported last week that Lloris would start today so A+ to them for getting that scoop. Hopefully the boys show some urgency and hunger today. I really don't want to see a repeat of what happened in Athens.

our play in the final third has been awful. we could really use adebayor in the second half. lloris has been impressive coming off his line, which brad NEVER does.

Achilles injury. He was supposed to be back a couple of weeks ago, but rumor is he's had a setback and won't be back until the end of the month (maybe longer). ;-;

Newcastle's got the 101 Power Ballads out.
Actually, I'm not sure if it's power ballads or lift music. Either way, I'm half-expecting Barry Manilow or Kenny G to wander out.

I am so remarkably calm about this Clasico, but that might be because my body cannot do anymore freaking out after I helped rescue a 7 foot long snake this afternoon~

... yes, it's hard to top that, really. :p

Care to elaborate? Do you work at a zoo or for a vet?

lol it was actually a snake that got itself trapped on the front porch of my grandparents house, and I own a TINY snake (in comparison to the one my mum and I rescued x_x), but I've never had to deal with a wild snake large enough to strangle me before, so it was... interesting :\

To further clarify, I live in Australia. Not the outback or anything. The suburban area of Sydney, but things like massive pythons aren't uncommon XD

I was wondering if you lived in Australia, actually, as I know snakes are very common. Though it's really good it wasn't one of the highly venomous ones you folks are blessed with! :D

Congrats on your animal rescue. Most people here - USA - would've run screaming.

After the drama of the past few days IRL anything that happens is just icing on the cake. I am feeling your calm.

Caulker gets the goal! Awww! MY BB! Please go for a second now boys! I don't want us sitting on a one goal lead.

Captain Sammy, I love you. Man City don't know what they've lost. <3

I kind of wish Spurs were more ruthless. Villa is down to 10 men and we should be putting the sword to them. LOL.

Woo, 2-0 home win. First half was a bit flat, but we woke up in the second and looked very much in control. Could have scored more when Villa went down to 10. We also got our first clean sheet in the PL, which was a nice way for Lloris to start his Tottenham career. Adebayor made a 20 minute appearance and looked very good. We've definitely been missing his hold up play in the final third. Now on to Chelsea after the international break. That should be a good one!

United scoring from corners, what is this Bizarro World, I cannot...

And shit, that was close lol! After a million replays I don't think the whole ball was over. No way lino could see it in real time imo.

Dortmund, your defense is looking leaky these days.

I'm really excited to watch el Clásico today. It's my first match of the season because I've been too busy to actually watch any of the others. I've been going through football withdrawal.

De Gea's decision making is a bit worrying. He tried many times to punch the ball away even though he was not close enough to punch it and ended up flapping around.

I ended up watching a German stream--first time ever hearing German commentary..don't understand a word, but very interesting. He sounded pretty calm, until Messi scored that free kick :P He said "fantasticia" or something similar.., and i got excited because it was as close to understanding German as i could get lol

That was such a nice clasico! It's also the kind of clasico that i think would be nice for a neutral to watch. Pretty satisfied with the outcome, RM dominated over Barca significantly in the first half, we redeemed ourselves in the second though.
Messi's free kick :33

Cristiano is a fucking HERO for playing in agony and running down that ball like a god damned defender in the last minute. That is how you put your team ahead of yourself.
