I know it's late but I've been busy this weekend - that's why I didn't get a chance to post one yesterday either

It was a good game. I don't think Barca played as badly as some fans are making out, no one is invincible, and they didn't even lose. Espanyol played really well, Condol obviously knows his stuff.

it was more our attitude (not our, the players')--they seemed complacent to sit on a 1goal lead, when the opponent is Espanyol and on fire, it was no excuse. People don't sit on 1-goal leads, at least has to be 2 goals.
And where was our penalty kick :( that was disgusting..

Well they are intelligent players, I don't believe they intentionally sat on 1-goal thinking it was enough. And Pep himself said in the press conference they'd need more goals, so I'm sure they were told to go for the second, (and third, and fourth), during half time.

There does seem to be a tiredness about them, my understanding is that they didn't have good pre-season preparations. Some players were sub-par, but imo they weren't horrendously crap like some fans are saying. Espanyol equipped themselves very well and made it tough.

*And I obvs meant their manager knows his stuff, not Condol! Who should have condemned the chanting of Alves, not simply accepted it as part of the game. I understand it's difficult for clubs etc.. to tackle the issue of racist chanting, but there seems to be no desire to properly deal with it, and that's disappointing.

They are intelligent and professional players, with good discipline ya, it was just...the general vibe many people got from them. They didn't seem fired up and motivated, as opposed to say playing against RM or Milan. Espanyol is no easy opponent and i wish they treated them with almost as much fire and motivation as they did Madrid.
To me it was bad, maybe not as horrid as can be, but for this Barca squad and for these players, very much below-par :( Maybe they all got the flu or sumthing. Valdes had it, Messi still had it last game.. Props to Espanyol for playing so well.

Oh i know what you meant, don't worry! I saw people mentioning the racist chants, i couldn't tell among the noise during the game as i don't speak Spanish, that's beyond disappointing :(. I think they (the Spanish footie organizations) in general can't be bothered to wipe it out, they'd have to deny entrance to ticket-holders and lose some $$$, god knows they don't want that to happen. Sigh.
