Mike Dean and Andre Marriner obviously don't get paid enough so we'll have to change that for next season ;)

Atkinson has been the worst referee imo and the stats prove he is card happy unless he should be red carding Luiz :)

I've said it before and I like to repeat it: I like refs (well some of them, especially Mark Clattenburg, Howard Webb and Kevin Friend) because without them there wouldn't be football. What they have to stand week in week out is amazing and being a part time assistant ref myself makes me to understand and respect just a little bit what they have to go through during and after a match.

I also have my sayings on ref when they have a bad game sometimes or just don't see some certain players go diving on and on but sometimes you can't see some situations like on the telly and only that some certain players are well known for diving or tackle you can't give them their marching order because the supporters want to.

It's a matter of vision and here refs are far beyond the modern possibilities, i.e. video technology as already used in most sports. It will be used in some youth tournament in the near future (I've forgotten what it was) and will hopefully get through to the big stage. So there won't be less discussion or debate about refs in the near future, too, I hope so.

other than martin atkinson, most refs have an ok ratio of good to bad games. doesn't help that FIFA refuse to look into video replays/goal line technology, there's only so much the human eye can see

Howard Webb, hands down, is the worst referee ever. Atkinson sucks big time too, but he's nowhere near as bad as Webb *shrugs*

LMAO @ my comment below yours. IDK, I feel like Atkinson is an overt asshole whereas Howard is just sucky but he does try.

Most of the time.

LMAO. I knew it would be Atkinson; say what you want about Webb, but he at least tries not to be an obvious asshole.

The most shocking referee I've seen this season is Martin Atkinson. The only memory which serves is Fulham against Bolton in the FA Cup (although this is probably biased and only because I was there in the rain, front row in an uncovered part of the stand, ha, ha, ha.)
There were five or six incidents where Bolton defenders used Bobby Zamora as a launching pad (as in to lift themselves into the air to meet a header by grabbing his shoulders) and knocked him to the ground. There were a few other things but this is what really sticks. He was missing quite a few Bolton fouls. It certainly wasn't deliberate on the part of Bolton but if a side can get away without cards, surely they might keep fouling?
Don't get me wrong, Bolton are an incredible side and seeing Holden close up was sdjhfsdjfkhsdf.

/Fairly pointless story.
There are some incredible referees out there and they don't deserve some of the abuse that they get. It's an extremely difficult role to fill... It's just... Atkinson...
