Disciplinary proceedings against officials in relation to international matches

FIFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against six match officials in relation to the international A friendly matches Bolivia-Latvia and Estonia-Bulgaria played in Antalya (Turkey) on 9 February 2011.

The proceedings were opened following an evaluation of all documentation and information received by FIFA, in relation to a possible match fixing situation in these matches.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee will be in charge to deal with the matter.

Yes. YES. Match fixing, betting, big money. These shenanigans are so rampant. The big, big dogs are much smoother about it. Corruption? go figure.....

Makes you wonder if any of the bigger matches were fixed, you know? Just more discreetly. It must have been pretty obvious for even the dumbasses at FIFA to think it was fishy (or decide they needed to investigate to preserve their image...).

Yup. I think it's fairly standard to see more subtle "influencing" by officials. Not to be a total tin-foil hat, but "football is life" and has the same corruption we see all over the place. Officials are human & all, but yeah, it's dirty & it's about the money. But we fans still love the pure sport....
