Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner is looking forward to crossing his name off of Arsenal's injured list in the coming weeks.
"Now I am ready [to train]," Bendtner says.
"Some of the boys have time off because of their internationals, but otherwise I train together with the other first-team players at Arsenal and I have enjoyed myself so much. "I have no pain in the groin and have trained so hard physically that maybe I am in my best shape ever.
"I need only a couple of reserve team matches to be quite sharp in football terms. It is my hope that I can be with the first team in 14 days.
Captain Cesc Fabregas' return for last Sunday's Chelsea match was estimated at a 50-50 chance by the Arsenal boss, who eventually decided Cesc needed more recovery time. Now, it looks as though a recovery from the hamstring injury Cesc suffered during a freak goal at Sunderland will be resolved for his participation in Arsenal's Oct 16th match-up against Birmingham. On October 5th Cesc tweeted "I'm fit and training with the team. If the game was today i could have played, but it was 2 days too short and didnt want to take a gamble." Despite a disappointing 2-0 loss to Chelsea, Arsenal fans will likely agree that a healthy Fabregas going forward was worth the wait.
There is, however, a bit of bad news. Robin van Persie's recovery is not yet over. As of now he's predicted to be match fit some weeks away at the start of November, but it would not be too surprising if his return date is pushed back further. Thomas Vermaelen's recovery from his achiles injury will be an even longer process, sadly for both Arsenal and my Fantasy Football teams. It is not yet known if he will require surgery, but Wegner is optomistic that he will not.
Lastly, on a happier note, Aaron Ramsey will be back soon!! Wales' manager estimated he will be back to full training in 3 weeks.
