Capello names England squad to face Montenegro.
Fabio Capello names his squad to face Montenegro at Wembley.
Fabio Capello has named his squad to face Montenegro in the third and final Euro 2012 qualifier of the year.
After wins over Bulgaria and Switzerland, England will be looking to make it nine points from three games at Wembley on Tuesday 12 October.
Bolton forward Kevin Davies is called up for the first time by Capello, joining Darren Bent, Peter Crouch and Wayne Rooney among the attacking options.
Also returning for the first time this season are Rio Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Aaron Lennon and Rob Green. In midfield Jack Wilshere has been named in both the senior squad and Stuart Pearce's England Under-21s.

Whilst we're talking about Englishmen, here is praise for some of the England dudes, Adam Johnson and Crouchie (well, I would) for their performances this weekend , as well as criticism of Karl Henry for his horror lunge on Saturday and the fair play rankings so far

How awesome is Adam Johnson?? He's had to make a name for himself at Manchester City, no easy feat by any stretch of the imagination, and manages to be the very definition of the word "super-sub".

Peterpoo =) =) I would have liked him to have not been so failtastic in front of goal and score a couple himself, but it's nice to see him having some input :))) ngl, when I first heard Van der Vaart was joining Spurs, I just fretted that he'd slip lower down in the pecking order, assuming VDV to be an obvious starter in their new 4-4-1-1 system, and Crouch to get fewer starts. But it's nice to see the two gelling. Pride for my beautiful robot <3
Now, onto something considerablly more sour, Karl Henry's lunge (and second red of the season already) bungs Wolves at the top of the foul play league:

And, staying with The Guardian, selected interesting post-match comments from Arsene Wenger:

Heheheh :p
So anyway. I'm putting this out there -- which was worse; De Jong's double-leg breaker, or Karl Henry's lunge?
(er. poll function failing for me. fail.) I don't wanna hear from anyone "he's just not that type of player"!!! :-p

ugh both tackles were awful.

Hopefully no one will return to their club injured next week, as Spurs haven't had any luck in the last two England games. I don't think there's many, if any, big surprises in the team, but that's probably because of the number of English players that are injured at the moment making way for players such as Kevin Davies and, because I'm almost certain Lampard and Milner would be called were they available, a couple of the midfielders.
Adam Johnson is an amazing talent. He's one of the most exciting players to watch at the moment.
Chelsea bottom of the fouls list? I like.
As for the tackles from the weekend, Karl Henry's looked awful and clearly a red. I didn't see the leg break at City and I don't want to. I've heard that a free kick wasn't even given? And for an injury that has been compared with Aaron Ramsey's, there is clearly something wrong with that (if that's true).

Um...as for the England squad...Holy shit! Capello's gotten over his Joe Cole issues, haha. Also, glad Adam Johnson's there, though had no doubts really, lol.
Now I just hope England do well, would make up the whole Liverpool thing a teeny tiny bit (not much, but hey, gotta take what I can).
