Onyewu Goes to Court to Stop Racist Abuse
Basically Gooch says that Jelle Van Damme (Anderlecht) called him a "dirty monkey" on the field (I guess Van Damme has a rep for this sort of thing) and Van Damme says: "I'm not going to tell you what I said nor what other people said. Because it doesn't matter. It's football, it's a game. And emotions might flare up, and you sometimes shout something in the heat of the moment. A lot was being said, also by Onyewu. But once the match is finished, you should leave that behind you. You shouldn't go cry about it in the press." So now he's getting sued and I say good job, you very sexy man, especially because it looks like you're the only one who's going to make a huge fuss about it.

And emotions might flare up, and you sometimes shout something in the heat of the moment. --oh yeah you know because if I was a player I would definitely say nasty things about your mother & while I'm at it I'd say something about your skin color and compare you to some animal because I'm still a BAMF when I'm all riled up during a game. That's BS! There's nothing better than a player being mature during a hard game. He says it's whining because he's the one getting told off for being pathetic.
RACISM in soccer is serious business and needs to be brought up until it sinks in. There are so many other options to take but calling someone a "dirty monkey" or anything atrocious like that shouldn't be tolerated and it's not acceptable.



I LOVE JIMMY CONRAD! I'm going to read that on his site and laugh. I'm following him on twitter now. He's amazing.

Van Damme was pissed because he was losing the title. But it's not the first time people say he's acting like a dick on the pitch. I think he's a good player, and quite good looking i have to say, but a jerk.
This kind of behaviour is what makes Anderlecht less "supportable". I used to root for them, but now there are too many asses in this team, and being a good player doesn't excuse anything.

I've heard that Anderlecht has kind of an attitude problem? Like they just expect to win and get offended if someone stand up to them? I know very little about the Juliper League, though.

Yeah they do. They have been the biggest team for quite some time now, and i think they wanted to prove that last year was just an accident (Standard won the Championship).
To be fair, the press always puts so much pressure on them because they are supposed to be the best. If you tell someone "you're supposed to win" i guess they end up believing it !

But this year, it was very tied between Anderlecht and Standard, and at the end of the season, they both had 77 points. In any other country, Anderlecht would have won because they had the biggest goal average. BUT in Belgium, the rules are different. They had to play what we call "test-matches", in 2 legs, and well the one who wins, wins the Championship. Anderlecht lost, so of course they were very angry.
They not only lost the title, they lost the direct ticket to the group stage of the CL.

Anyway, bad season for Anderlecht and i hope they'll learn their lesson.

I doubt he's doing it because he's personally offended (I believe similar situations have happened to him), but the fact that Standard won the championship = no "oh he's a sore loser," the fact that Van Damme and him have exchanged words before, plus he's looking to leave Belgium makes this a very good time to do this. idk if the lawsuit will even be successful, but I doubt he wants/needs/is entitled to the money - this is a move to point out how this happens frequently, the ref does nothing, and no one really ever does anything of substance.
