It was the second-to-last London derby of the 2010-2011 season today (last involving Chelsea)! Meetings across the capital for Chelsea have certainly not been low on incidents this season, from David Luiz’s boss debut that was tarnished by his conceding a last minute penalty at Craven Cottage (that was thankfully saved), to the capital punishment suffered at the Emirates in the 3-1 humiliation by Arsenal. In this corresponding fixture at White Hart Lane last December alone, it was an end-to-end match that either side could have won, but Drogba missed the chance to when he fluffed a penalty at the very end of the match. For a good majority of 2011, Chelsea were thereabouts Spurs and sometimes even behind them in the league, and I’d actually been fretting, and Torres loathers had been rubbing their hands together at the prospect of us finishing behind them in the league and, god forbid, staring at the pit of no Champions League football next year. But, going into this game, Chelsea had come into a bit of form – so much so that Torres himself scores last week – and were sitting pretty in second with a slim, slim chance of retaining the title. Spurs pretty much needed to win to keep their chances of playing CL football next season alive. Something had to give, and boy oh boy, did shit go down today.

So, despite Chels looking bright, it was Spurs who opened the scoring, Sandro scoring an absolute beaut. It skimmed Modric's head and past Cech's fingertips into the net. Unstoppable.

Then Lampard's "goal" just before the end of half time. I'll be the first to admit that it was highly, highly dubious.

The beginning of the second half. tbh I made a face not dissimilar to Carlo's eyebrow-up thing when I saw both Torres and Drogba starting today. He blates got carried away with that ONE goal Torres scord, trololol. I would have 4-3-3-d it with Kalou starting, but that's just me. It almost freaking cost us, Spurs were good today.

Flawless team, and can I just say, Kalou dissers to the mofo'ing left!!!! I've always been a mega cheerleader of him, love the dude, even when he frustrates (as he did when he squandered multiple chances in the game at WHL last December). But he was certainly in the right place at the right time today!! This is his first season at Chelsea that he's scored 10 goals in the premier league as well!!!! Can we all glomp this precious Ivorian bb?!?!? THAT'S WHY WE ALL LOVE SALOMON KALOU.

The ref was wank but he was shite to Chelsea too; there were many fouls against us that weren't given and we had a legit penalty shout. Yes it was harsh on Spurs but I refuse to reprimand Lampard and Kalou - two of my favourite Chelseabungs for simply 'aving a go, as Harry himself might say.

All in all, I'm v. happy! Plus, regardless of whether or not West Ham go down, QPR got promoted today, so we'll still have at least 8 London derbies next season, four of those West London ones! GET IN.

Love this team so hard. It wasn't our best performance of the season by any means, but I LOVE beating Spurs and even though we were bloody fortituious today, I'll take that luck, thanks. That being said, part of me does sympathise with Spurs because Barcagate 09 (which, btw, The Guardian were rating matches out of 5 on the Barce-ref-pandering-ness and that game got 4/5 -- I doubt they could genuinely give a 5/5 at the risk of appearing slanted), Lampard's goal that DID cross the line and wasn't given and the like have left me more than knowing how much it fucking hurts when big decisions in big games go against you

I think the league is still, realistically, a bit far fetched (Arsenal would have to win tomorrow and we'd have to beat United at Old Trafford, don't see both/either of those happening tbqh) but some of her playing today, when we were a goal down and after the re-start, for example, made me so happy to see. Our mid-season dip was so woeful, but it's lush to go out on a bang!
