The parallel between the IOC and FIFA is very appropriate, I think, given that Sepp Blatter was very chummy with Juan Antonio Samaranch back in the day. (If you really want some good reading on shady business dealings, read this book (http://www.worldcat.org/oclc/156818161), Blatter and Samaranch were also good buddies with the man who built Adidas into a huge global brand and pioneered corporate sports sponsorship, it's a football related book and it's excellent, can't recommend enough).
I have nothing bad to say about Russia or Qatar other than too bad I won't be trying to go to these World Cups due to language/money issues now, the bids I hoped to see win didn't, it's done, dealt with it, etc.
Also, NOMAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! ... just 'cause I wanted to say it.
