I feel like I should clarify. I'm from Singapore and almost all the United fans here refer to United as Man U. I am positive that they do not mean anything bad by it, it is just common to call them that in this part of the world. I only learnt that it was an insulting term through this community and I have told some of my friends that it is considered an insult elsewhere.
I'm not saying that it is right in any way, but just that the offensive chants are not common knowledge here.
