This, so much. Rooney hasn't even had to fight to keep his place in the starting eleven for England. I'd much rather see Defoe and Crouch (obviously this can't happen on Tuesday) starting for England, and for Rooney to begin returning to his previous form for United before returning to the starting line-up. At the moment he shouldn't get any further than the bench.
