Myspace Comments

POST RULZ:
1. The name of one of your favorite players.
2. Why are they a favorite of yours?
3. Your favorite picture/moment of them on the field.
4. Your favorite picture/moment of them off the field.
5. Favorite random fact!

I'll go first:

1. Sergio Ramos (duh)

2. How passionately he plays every game, how charitable he is, the fashion lols, how he is always smiling, how much he cares for his family and friends.

3. While he isn't actually playing in this photo it's my favorite on field one because its the culmination of all the work he has done out there; and he uses this moment to comfort a friend. perfectio.

4. How was this not going to be it? Do I even need to explain why?

5. He wants to retire back in Sevilla (the city, not the club!), d'aww.

Have at it and feel free to picspam your favorite too!

I don't actively follow the BuLi and Schalke would be one of the last teams I'd follow if I did watch BuLi matches (even if Raul is there now), so... yeah. D: At least he seems to be happy.

Ah well, after the public bashing Magath gave him (plus getting yet another Center Back), I'm not sure he's *that* happy anymore... I hope it, though. But I still can't understand his move to Schalke of all clubs. Ah well.

Mmmh, I posted a fanvid a few days ago about the 96-Schalke match, it does feature a few of Matze's (and Raul's) scenes, but it's not pretty... :/

After reading that, I definitely don't keep up with the Bundesliga enough... but I agree, his move to Schalke was possibly one of the most baffling transfers. To play at the club he was not shy about expressing dislike for when he played at BVB... :( I wonder how the BVB fans will receive him when Schalke plays at BVB's stadium.

Ouch. D: The only nice thing is that with Christoph at Schalke, he can be Raul's translator since he does speak Spanish fluently. But otherwise? Not so sure about how he's going to do at Schalke.

Right now, the question is whether they'll receive him at all. Last thing I heard, the BVB fans want to boycot the Schalke match because Magath spent this insane amount of money on new players (giving that Schalke was declared almost broke pre season, got more money from sponsors and fans and calculates with a lot of money they haven't even won yet - give them a shitty season without international success and this might be it). Anyhoo, BVB fans are riding a "We won't buy your tickets to pay Huntelaar for you"-wave right now. We'll see what will happen in two weeks ;)

When Raul arrived, they did do an interview for some telly station and Metze did act as translater. I didn't watch it, but BFF did, who's been crushing on Metze sind forever. She said it was kinda pathetic, Metze was really used as some random translator only, it could've been anyone. She felt very sorry for him.

Wow... that is... I don't really even know what to say. I mean, I understand why the BVB fans would boycott the match, but I can't even begin to imagine how Metze feels about all this now. Especially since the BVB fans received him so warmly when Real Madrid played in Dortmund against BVB in a friendly. That was probably one of my favorite moments of him as a Madridista.

(I have to laugh at all the ex-Real Madrid players currently at Schalke though)

What I saw was a post-match interview where Raul was being interviewed and Metze was translating and they seemed happy enough. :( But being as I don't understand a word of German other than the common phrases used in football, I doubt I got a good grasp of what was happening there.

I don't think these past few years have been very kind to him, poor guy. He probably should have just stayed at BVB and retired there.

I'm guessing Metze doesn't enjoy his current situation. Many BVB fans swung from love to almost hate because of his betrayal to them. And I can understand their reaction. This wasn't just some player for a rival club, but Metze did too much to fuel the Schalke dislike himself in the past. I don't get why he went there now. I really don't. I don't know what Magath tells his players. Not sure I want to. And now, his performances have been so poor and if Magath maybe think of alternatives already... it's all so sad. Still, his own fault, which makes it even sadder maybe, because he's usually such a clever man and all that. Why didn't you see that coming, Metze?

He probably should have just stayed at BVB and retired there.

YES. That would've been smart.

If I remember correctly, he and Kehli made t-shirts to sell which added fuel to the fire of the rivalry between the two teams - as well as the fact that he said he disliked the time he spent at Schalke in his youth. And of course, he can't take any of that back now, especially since he's playing for said team. :/ His current situation is just depressing, especially considering how bright his future was at the end of summer 2006.

Stating the obvious, but he was captain there and the fans loved him and just... :((

You remember correctly. And sure, he can't take these things back, but he took the parts about disliking his youth at Schalke down off his homepage :P

So sad. I still like him and all, since I'm not really affected by all this rivalry thing. But what I've seen of him so much at Schalke... oy :((

Haha, did he? Oh Christoph... I wonder if Ozil's taken down the fact that Barcelona is one of his favorite teams from his homepage ;)

I don't think I'll ever stop liking him because I don't follow any Bundesliga teams, but... yeah, it's just a sad situation.

Hehe.

That would be fantastic, thank you! Bundesliga games are always too early for me. :(
