Natalie Imbruglia looked very happy while flashing her trademark V-sign after spending an evening being wooed by football star Freddie Ljungberg.

The Swedish player spotted the gorgeous Australian singer, 33, at a neighbouring VIP table at Whisky Mist in Mayfair, London, on Saturday night.

He made his intentions known in true footballer style - by sending over a bottle of champagne.

Our spy tells us: 'They were soon sitting at the same table and chatting.

'They were getting closer and closer, and looked very cosy by the end of the evening.

'They were the very last ones out of the club at 4am yesterday after ignoring the bouncer's calls to leave so they could chat a little longer.'

Freddie, 31, has more time on his hands than usual since being released by West Ham in the summer.
